HAPPY NEW YEAR WORLD!
A blog post was long overdue. So here is one that I wrote last year (I had to sneak in a New Year pun), but never got around to posting it.
A couple of months back, I had an amazing opportunity – in no small part thanks to Microsoft and the Microsoft Student Partners (MSP). I got to travel to Egypt to attend the yearly MSP Summit – where I met some badass fellow MSPs from the Middle East Africa region.
The highlight here is the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 PanArab, which I got to witness live. It was a hectic 4 days but it was tech heaven for someone from a remote island like Mauritius.
Bottom Line – A once in a lifetime experience leaving you craving for more.
MICROSOFT IMAGINE CUP PANARAB 2016
Microsoft Imagine Cup is a competition whereby the competing teams propose and develop an application or a solution using Microsoft Technologies. It is aimed at inspiring innovation and creativity among us – helping us to take it to the next level.
The competition is broken down into three categories – Innovation, Gaming and Citizenship – and the one I attended could be described as the regional finals, where the winning team gets to fly to Seattle and compete for the title.
While I did wander around a bit, I focused more on the Citizenship booth. One thing is for sure – despite the theme, there was no lack of innovation there!
Here are some of pictures of the event.
